UPDATE: Jan. 8, 2018, 12:15 p.m. EST This piece has been updated with a transcript of an exchange between Miller and Tapper after the segment ended.

A hostile interview between Trump aide Stephen Miller and CNN's Jake Tapper on Sunday was certainly an eyebrow raiser.

As first reported by Business Insider, Miller had to be escorted off set by security following his interview after being asked to "leave several times." A source confirmed the report to Mashable.

The interview on Tapper's State of the Unionshow quickly descended into a shouting match, after the pair initially sparred over the truth in Michael Wolff's new book about Trump's first year in office.

Miller went after CNN and Tapper over "fake news" after he was asked about Trump's mental fitness following the president's tweets on the matter.

Tapper eventually cut off the interview, telling Miller that he's "wasted enough of my viewers' time."

Following the interview, Trump tweeted that Tapper was "destroyed" by Miller in the interview.

On Monday, a transcript of Miller's interaction with Tapper after the segment ended leaked.

"You should honestly be ashamed of yourself," Miller said.

"This is the reason they don't put you on TV. OK? This is the reason," Tapper replied.
