On Thursday, Chinese tech company iFLYTEK announced at the 2024 Global 1024 Developer Event that its voice recognition technology has achieved coverage of dialects in all prefecture-level cities across the country, supporting 201 dialects from 288 cities in China. During the event, iFLYTEK also introduced its Spark Multilingual Model for the first time, which supports nine foreign languages: English, Russian, Japanese, Arabic, Korean, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and German. The company also showcased various application scenarios for its Spark Multilingual Model, including in-car voice interaction, intent understanding, and real-time search.
