As some lawmakers have learned the hard way, old yearbook photos can come back to haunt you. But Congressman Eric Swalwell's picture has proved they can also be good for a laugh.
Behold the glories of the Democratic congressman's coif circa 1999, when he was a student at Dublin High School in Dublin, California.

Swalwell's photo came to light on March 10 when the San Jose Mercury Newsdug into some of the adorkable yearbook photos of a few prominent California politicians, including Gov. Gavin Newsom and Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf.
But it's Swalwell's blonde spikes -- is he a Backstreet Boy? a rapper? a teen movie villain? -- that have gone viral. And, to his credit, Swalwell is rolling with it.

Swalwell is the congressman for California's 15th district, which includes a large portion of the East Bay. He's carved out a niche online as a strident voice against Trump, including the time he walked an extra block to get coffee in New York City so he didn't have to go in Trump Tower.

But perhaps his greatest blow against the president is this throwback humblebrag, showing what it's like to have a full, beautiful, and well-managed head of hair.
