If we have learned anything in the cruel summer of 2016, it is that you can't build your life around a two month-long celebrity romance, however photogenic they may seem together.

Justin Bieber and Sofia Richie have reportedly called it quits, according to TMZ, so please take a second to cancel all your plans for this evening so you can process this.

While Bieber and the model/daughter of Lionel Richie were only together a very short amount of time, their relationship sent permanent ripples through the Bieberverse.

Biebs deleted his Instagram account after his perplexing decision to post several barely distinguishable photos of Richie in rapid succession didn't go over well with Beliebers. Selena Gomez got involved, and eventually, Biebs peaced out of the social network.

For a minute, fans thought Bieber and Richie were over because Bieber was spending time in London with British model Bronte Blampied, but Bieber and Richie (Bichie?) seemed strong again when they vacationed in Mexico for the model's 18th birthday. Yep, she was 17!

Prior to hooking up with Richie, Bieber dated blond model Hailey Baldwin, who is the daughter of a famous Baldwin but not the most famous Baldwin, but Biebs was reluctant to put a label on the relationship. Leonardo DiCaprio would be proud.
